“Each day is Valentine’s Day”
It was a cardboard tan puppy — his head a bit out of proportion to his little black-outlined body – surrounded by (and in places covered by) a smattering of multi-sized red (felt!) hearts. “Please don’t leash me on!,” its sentiment blared. On the white, shiny reversed side, in blue ink, he had carefully printed his name. Vince Aquira. It was 1966. I was seven.

At 5:45 each evening, the driveway gravel crunched, announcing my dad’s arrival home. My already pounding heart was about burst in anticipation. Would he have it? Did he get it? Was he too busy and didn’t have time? Did he forget?

I waited, upstairs, in my bedroom – never ever, ever, ever (ever) wanting my Parental Units to see me anything but totally cool. The sound of his wing-tips on the basement stairs. The sound of the door opening into the kitchen. Wait ..wait .. wait for it … “Juliannnnnnnaaaaaa,” my mom called out, “Daddy has something for youuuuuuu!” I gave my best bored-but-coming saunter down the steps.

There it was. If we had said Oh Em Gee in those days, I would have. A beautiful, small red heart. I knew before I even before my fingers reached the cellophane wrapper that it would be filled with five delectable, waxy, milk-chocolates – and one piece of a decidedly odd, dark chocolate. Just like always. It was anywhere from 1963 to 1979. It was until I got married.

Tim Keegal was sex on a stick. A short stick, but a stick nonetheless. Elton John was warning Honky Cat to Get Back and, oblivious to the beat, Tim and I danced and swayed and swooned (well, I swooned) amidst the hanging puffy hearts and foil cupids suspended from my best friend’s basement ceiling. When the dance ended, my lashes still fluttering, he whispered, “Wow. That was great. Now I want to dance with a blonde.” Clearly Tim was a sharer. Or perhaps he simply took Elton’s advice and figured the change was gonna do him good. It was 1972.

My (now ex-) husband proposed on Valentine’s Day in a fancy-schmancy restaurant parking lot. The proposal was witnessed by the service guy from the local Chevrolet dealership who had been called when the first-called-and-still-on-the-scene tow truck driver couldn’t get the car door open to rescue the locked-in keys.

“So do you want to get married or what?,” the Now Ex shouted. In retrospect, I should have answered Or What. Or, knowing what I know now, should have at the very least confirmed that he wasn’t just asking because I had AAA. But only hindsight is 20/20 and I had really been concentrating on the falling snow and the damage the slush was doing to my new suede pumps. So I said Sure. The length of the marriage would last the same number of years that I had lived at the time of the heartfelt proposal. I was 20.

Last year, I was the official volunteer photographer assigned to follow around a local barbershop singing quartet. They had been hired to perform singing valentines to women around town. Hired by husbands, boyfriends, fathers and friends to appear in their tuxedos, brandish a rose, and sing “Let Me Call you Sweetheart” to unsuspecting women in all (and I do mean all!) walks of life. We went to homes, to hospitals, to schools, to farms. We visited nursing homes and assisted living centers; they sang to housewives and sales clerks and professors and waitresses. My job was to snap a photo of the always-surprised women. There were 17 of them and I was 53.

“That love’s a funny thing,” my best friend’s brother always says. It’s shown in the care we take to print our names so carefully on the white, slippery side of our carefully selected glittery cards; in the joy we feel when we bring to our children a gift that seems to last only a second but becomes a forever memory; in the shaking voice of a young man embarrassed that he couldn’t bring magic to the most-important moment; brought to us courtesy of the dimly lit game rooms of our youth and shown reflected in our eyes, captured forever by a photograph.

This Valentine’s Day I wish you not only a day filled with the knowing that you are loved, but a day filled with loving and with a gentle reflection on the many, many gifts of love you have received throughout your lifetime. If you take those few moments, I think you’ll find you smile and cry and probably wince more than once. After all … that love’s a funny thing.

Psychic Julianna Day...In a recent post, a colleague posed an interesting question: Do we tattle?

In a recent post, a colleague posed an interesting question: Do we tattle? Her moral-dilemma scenario was that of standing behind someone at the check-out who doesn’t place all of their cart items onto the counter and leaves the store without paying for several things left in the bottom of their cart. What do we do?

The answers were as varied as you could imagine – ranging from something just shy of running them down in the parking lot to letting Karma work its magic. (My personal favorites were those who asked qualifying questions: What were the items? and Where were they in the cart? When in doubt, add a gray area, I suppose.)

As is always the case with moral brain teasers, our answers tell us singularly about ourselves. Often, even, how we feel about ourselves and how we perceive ourselves. Do we pre-suppose either the best case or worst? Do we judge and declare not only a verdict but go a step further and take it upon ourselves to assign a suitable punishment?

I once took a philosophy class, “Kant, Hegel, Marx”. I don’t remember if I took it because I had temporarily lost my mind, or if the only other credit choice was to be hung upside down, suspended over a fire pit.

Because no one could actually pass the class, the professor quickly offered an ongoing extra-credit assignment: Each Monday, he would post on his office door two articles out of the newspaper. We had only to choose which one was morally more offensive, and write about why. Great. Easy A. Or so I thought until I saw the first two articles.

I won’t gray your hair with the details; suffice to say one story was as bad as the other. Those of us who had raced to the door to see the posting stood there, dumbstruck. Turns out that life – ripped from the headlines, as the saying goes – wasn’t quite as black and white as we had hoped. Certainly not as represented on Professor Andrew’s office door.

As we slunk into class on Tuesday, our professor beamed with (victory). Life, he reminded us, is about judgment calls. Moral dilemmas are the periodic mid-terms in Soul Growth School. Like any exam, we must draw on our own experiences, the experiences of those around us, employ empathy and compassion, both – yet neither should cloud the truth.

When you go through your days, this week, keep an eye open for the opportunity to quiz yourself with some of the hard questions. Situations in which those involved are clearly neither right nor wrong. Be brave and give the scenarios genuine thought. Think till it hurts. Engage your heart. Put yourself in the position of those in the scenario – draw on your personal experience. Take yourself back to “school.” Your answers may surprise even you!

Psychic Children Are Children First...I do believe we all have some innate or latent potential for psychic ability. But not everyone is born with an innate talent that works at a proficient...

I remember when I was young. Being in large crowds were inconceivable to me: I intensely hated being around large groups of people due to being able to pick up on the overwhelming feelings of others which would sort of invade my body like a pandemic fever spread out over my whole being, infecting me with information I did not need nor want to know. And at six, I did not understand largely. I could sense thoughts, feelings, intentions; I could see images and people in my mind, but always these things came with pain and the feeling that I was somehow invading someone’s privacy. I was an interloper in the mind of others.

Yet it always felt as though I was the one being violated, as though my mind was unable to keep up with all the random thoughts and information that downloaded itself when I was in very large crowds. I would become nauseated and vomit or faint or at times lose my balance and stumble. This uncomfortable feeling of being too close to people whom I didn’t really know and the sickness that came with that created a phobia in time, where being in crowds of people simply was not done. My mother, being an attentive mother, did not fail to notice these panic attacks and began to keep me from crowds.

Aside from this memory of my childhood, I remember having, what now would be considered, very peculiar habits. I remember sensing that my mother, subconsciously, was very worried about my seemingly odd nature though she always attempted to seem unphased by my actions. It would make sense she would worry about the screaming and kicking I would do if talks about taking me to a shopping center or restaurant and all their crowds implied came about, anywhere I knew there would be or could be more than a dozen or so people in close proximity, not moving but sitting or standing in one place, thinking over their lives and past mistakes; there was also the tendency I had as a child to walk outside nearly nude and without shoes. In inclined weather or not, I felt a need to be close to the foliage that covered any wooded area I attended. The paws of my feet pressed up against the moist soil of a forest bed floor would feel as natural to me as some would sitting in a flat in a city center.

We had a big wooded area behind our house and I would always access it via a small hole in the backyard fence and strip off as much of my clothing as permissible by the weather and walk toward the hum of the forest, that place where my heart felt most at home. No one seemed to be able to hear this hum but me, but it was distinct and strong. I never knew where I would go as I followed wherever the hum would take me. Every day the direction of my feet would change depending on where the hum was. It would lead me to that day’s adventure of dead birds needing burying or newly blooming honeysuckle plants needing me to pay homage by plucking the some sweet nectar for me to sample. Back in my youth, a kid could disappear for an hour or so in the back yard or with his friends without tipping off an amber alert.. It was a peaceful time for me and a time that I most remember as feeling utterly connected with nature. Time has been unkind to that bond as I’ve largely grown out of those habits though I still never wear shoes out in the garden or when ever I can get away with it. I feel that life has changed only in the fact that now I’m aware that like many others in the world, I’m extremely intuitive. Not so special that I lack a true feeling of normality in my life but simply I’m clairvoyant and telepathic and I was never led to believe that I somehow was different.

I do believe we all have some innate or latent potential for psychic ability. But not everyone is born with an innate talent that works at a proficient and so this makes my experiences unique from those who’ve never picked up on the thoughts of others regularly but similar to the many like myself, people who experience consistent psychic moments throughout their lives. Extraordinary intuitive children are, as many people are beginning to understand, vulnerable to feeling alienated and shameful of their talents, but how parents deal with these children can greatly change how that child sees himself.

My mother knew. She was also touched with an innate ability to feel things and married a science-minded man whom didn’t accept such things as possible and so she tried very hard to bury it and not deal with the consequences of that act, like having a child whose innate abilities out weighed hers and therefore could not simply be pushed back. Her approach was simply to treat me as normal. She did send me to therapists to make sure I was coping well but I never was made to feel different. She didn’t spend time telling me to ignore these feelings, these unnatural things on which I felt. She only told me to try not look into people’s personal thought as that was wrong. I never grew up thinking I was bad because she, during all this time, consistently told me I was a good person and that my differences only made me human, not special, not better or worse, not evil. I grew up realizing I was unique and different simply as every child is unique and different from every other child in the world. I grew up feeling normal.

Today, unfortunately, with the Indigo children philosophies being propagated en mass and psychic kids being featured on reality ghost haunting shows, liberal minded parents are not treating their children as normal human beings. These kids are being told at a young age they are special and in some cases better than other people. They are given unrealistic ideas of what being a naturally talented psychic means and go out into the world with a sense of reality that is unsustainable in the world in which we live. Worse than that scenario are psychic children being brought up in a very conservative family whose belief structure about strongly initiative people is determined by the doctrine of an intolerant religious viewpoint. These children are told the opposite from the so called indigo children. They are told they are bad for using their gift. That if they see things, feel things that later do come true, they some how sinned because their gift is not natural to the makeup of humans but instead they are somehow beholden to some satanical spirit. These children often grow up feeling alienated even more so than normal, depressed and shameful of who and what they are. They often turn against their family religion by their young adult years but by then much damage has been done. They then may take pride in their psychic abilities but will use that distinction for self esteem in an attempt to feel strong where once they felt weak.

I wish every person with an extremely talented intuitive child treated that child as my mother treated me: normal, evenhandedly. By acknowledging that I did have a talent but not fussing over it either way, she allowed me to grow up happily as I did, proud of who I was without being arrogant about what I am. I am human, no more and no less. This is how all psychic children should be raised. Blessings.

Psychic Susan Speaks With Spirit...Love makes the world go around and the bulk of the psychic readings I do are about love...

Love makes the world go around and the bulk of the psychic readings I do are about love. When is love coming? Will love stay? Is it over? There has been many times a client comes to me for a psychic reading asking about a breakup – or worse — a status of a relationship where they have no idea if it’s on or off. Sometimes I can deliver good news, but often I have had to deliver the hard news that s/he isn’t coming back. They are hard words to deliver but I know they’re even harder words to hear and wrap one’s heart and mind around.

Sometimes the answer isn’t as simple as “it is over”. Sometimes the energy is stuck either because there’s a vicious cycle of back and forth or because the object of the client’s affection really doesn’t want to take things to the next level nor do they want to work towards that goal. This is the rough stuff. This is when the client has to decide if they should stay in the energy that is causing them such confusion and pain or leave and try to make a new life and new relationship for themselves. People often wonder why, as a psychic medium, I say I don’t believe in destiny. Situations like this are why. Decisions need to be made and often they carry with it karmic energy that is scary to look at and deal with.

Most people know the decision that needs to be made. The problem comes in on what do they do next? How do they move on? How do they get that person they hold so dear out of their hearts so that they can begin to heal and find someone new? How do they get that person out of their thoughts so that their hearts can begin to heal? I am the first to say that as time passes things do get easier. Not at, first of course, but as time passes we begin the process of allowing our heart’s to heal. Yet sometimes time isn’t enough and we can find ourselves in a vicious circle of not being able to let go and release the energy of the previous relationship in order to move on.

The answer is deceptively simple: Change your mind.

It sounds easy, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done in order be a success at changing your mind. Yet, this practice, once learned, is a stepping stone to not just opening your heart, but your energy your abundance; it is the first step to changing EVERYTHING. It is foundation and basic tenant of any number of practices such as “The Secret”, “Power of Positive Thinking” and all the other abundance creating philosophies.

•Every single time you find yourself thinking about him/her. STOP! Change your mind and think about something else; anything else as long as it is positive and beneficial to you.

•Make a list of positive affirmations and thoughts. Keep that list with you at all times.

•Keep your friends on speed dial. Make it clear to them you don’t want to wallow in the past. When you find yourself wallowing, call one of them just to chat. If one friend is busy, call the next person on your list. You’re goal isn’t to whine or cry. Just call and ask: What’s new? Then focus on what they’re saying to you instead of letting your mind drift off to him/her.

•Do something else. Do anything physical. Clean the kitchen, vacuum the rugs, take the dog for a walk or just go walking yourself and focus on the natural world.

•Read those positive affirmations first thing in the morning. I’m famous for taking a lipstick or eye pencil and writing an affirmation on my bathroom mirror so I know it is the first thing I read in the morning and the last thing I read at night. You’d be surprised how well it works! Try it!

•Nights are hard. Keep those affirmations by your bedside along with a good book. Or maybe a not so good book that will make you fall asleep faster!

Psychic Mondez Durden...Each day I try to do some sort of physical activity that gets my heart pumping...Communing with nature is a powerful practice of self evolution and requires only your willingness to let go of control for it to happen.

Each day I try to do some sort of physical activity that gets my heart pumping. Notice I said I try and not I do, but it’s slowly becoming more of a routine and I’ve begun to notice some distinct spiritual gains that come from better health, not simply being more clear of mind to read for people but also being able to breath more deeply for better immersion when performing my daily meditations. One huge benefit with trying to have my morning exercises outside is I get to commune with nature and in a way become one with it.

Communing with nature is a powerful practice of self evolution and requires only your willingness to let go of control for it to happen. We are all beings of this word, this universe. We are part and particle of everything and are connected with everything. We are the only species that forgets its origin as being part of the cosmos and not apart from it so at certain times it helps to commune again with nature and keep a dialogue so that we can be connected to where we began.
The other day I did this, and it was as close as one can get to a natural high. I did my normal morning meditation before I broke into a deep flexing routing followed by a brisk walk-jog following a bike trail circling a park near my house. The green of the trees superimposed over the blue sky dotted with puffs of white cloud laid out a scene that translates into pure tranquility and happiness. After my exercise, I found a nice undisturbed patch of grass and lay there facing the sunny sky with my shoes off and my bare feet and hands slightly sunk into the soil. The feeling was beyond calm, beyond worries of the day and of the past and of what will be.

I closed my eyes and focused not on the task at hand but simply on my sincere desire to connect with mother earth and have her energy run through me. Opening up my chakras and breathing in deep focused intervals, I began to call on the four corners of the watch towers, the guardians of the directional energies and that of mother earth. When you do this ritual, it feels like your body is bathing in warm milk. A silky smooth warmth of pulsating energy envelopes you and transfix your consciousness. The soil underneath your feet and hands begins to vibrate, as in the small stiff hum of a cat whose warm body lay underneath your extremities. And in that moment, you experience everything: the breeze against your skin rolling down, tickling arm hairs and whistling in your ears, the chirp of birds, magnanimous and exciting in their tonal cues, the boughs of rustling trees slowly waving back and forth, the sound of moving things on the floor of the field; you become one with your surroundings. You commune with nature.

I lay there in this state of heightened consciousness for thirty minutes, maybe an hour. I surely didn’t want to come out. I often never do. I find being in a state of altered awareness so pleasurable that coming out feels like I’m punishing myself for being too happy. But I pulled out and breathed in the residual energy around me using a visualization, and this energy settled in me like warm cocoa flooding my stomach, but was also in my lungs and chest. After performing a meditative ritual like this I’ve found it smart to wait a while before I drive a car or operate any machinery as it has a similar affect as being on some types of narcotics. The fist time I communed with nature, the effects afterward lasted for hours. But now it does not last long, maybe up to an hour or so, and it is not dangerous but communing with nature is the closest to a natural narcotic you’ll ever get. Running and jogging and working out gives one a high but nothing like this. So, be very careful if you choose to commune. There are so many ways to connect with all that were are, and I hope you find your path to speaking with mother nature as it only takes a desire to connect. Believe me, it’s worth it.

So often in readings, a client will ask me about a love interest. I will look at their energy “see” what they look like and think: ‘He’s not so handsome…,’ but spirit will correct me and tell me to say he’s very good looking. I often wondered if it was because the client sees the person has good looking/handsome/beautiful. Then it struck me the other day that in chat sessions I never get to actually see my clients or those people around them. This caused me to meditate on if what I see in a person’s soul part of good looks I see when I look at a client’s energy.

After meditating on this, I realize that there is great truth in that one’s attractiveness, or light, is on more than just a physical level. There are clients I have commented to that they wouldn’t be alone for long because they were so pretty. I would get a bashful… ‘Oh no I’m not! Really!” in return and I would get confused because the image I see of them is one of such a lovely person. Conversely, during psychic readings, I have looked at the energies of a person that made me think that a person isn’t very good looking – some downright ugly. Yet, intellectually I know I was looking at a person who was acting in a very selfish and self-centered way. Further, the more part of their nature these attributes are, the less attractive I see them as being. My psychic’s view of them causes me to literally paint a picture of an ugly person in mind’s eye.

What does this all mean? It means that beauty really is more than skin deep. What we see of a person can and is very different than what we see in a person.

I wish clients could see the object of their affection or focus the way I do. I really wish my clients could see themselves the way I do. I have to wonder how their choices would change if they saw the beautiful wonder of their own souls.

We each have an energy around us which works like a psychic finger print. Some call this an aura. It's what many psychics and intuitives pick up on in readings.

This country as a whole is in, what is commonly called, a home buyer’s market. What caused the stock market crash of 2008 can also be a blessing to many savvy first time home-buyers as home prices consistently lag each quarter to lows we have not seen as a country in 20 years. Bankruptcies and short sales are adding pressure on mortgage companies to move bad debt caused by over-leveraged inventories off their books to free up capital for better buys, security capital and increasing operational costs in a more competitive industry fighting for those with the best credit scores. This has left us in a situation where houses are being put on the market at, in some cases, forty to sixty percent less their estimated value. The problem is not too few good buys in decent markets, but that there are too many to choose from. The normal ways of looking for a good buy are moot as the measurements used to get possible future valuation of houses no longer apply in this economic down turn. Therefore, to a large degree, not only should a buyer use average household income, municipal zoning laws and local tax rates to help decide where to buy a new home, but we must also take time to use intuition in the buying process to find the most compatible house.

We each have an energy around us which works like a psychic finger print. Some call this an aura. It’s what many psychics and intuitives pick up on in readings. Families have a combined energy fingerprint which makes each family unit unique and specific when dealing with a whole range of things, including but not limited to, compatible duelings and areas in which to live. For complete comfortable living, we have to find a place that’s compatible to our energy, our psychic fingerprint. So feeling out the best house with your intuition by opening your chakras when doing the final look through is often helpful in the decision making process and can be the difference between buying a really great house you love to buying the perfect home you feel was made just for you. A good practice to help in the intuitive home buying process is to thoroughly research all your key choices with rigorous abandon. Have a list of amenities a community should have for you to consider it a serious possibility and get a good understanding of each community’s history. Also, read up on what each municipality plans in zoning and building for each community in the coming decade. Basically, get a good understanding of what vision the power structure of each community has for their area. Narrow the field down to as few choices as possible. Do this without having a favorite in mind if you can. This allows the intuition process to be as clean as possible without our wants getting in the way of our needs.

After you’ve taken the advice of an agent and looked through homes that fit your financial and specific requirements, you will need to take the time to go through the listings again a few weeks after you’ve seen the last home. Give it at least a week’s time from when you walked through the homes to when you look through the listings again so you operate less on impulsion and more on intuition and good sound decision making. Once you’ve looked over the listings and have gotten down to a manageable number, take each listing and place them side by side each other without looking at which ones fall in what order. Line them up from left to right in pairs and then look at each listing and compare each listing per pair from right to left or left to right depending on your preference. After looking at each pair of listings get rid of one listing per pair in which you feel least connected. So, for each pair of listings, get rid of the one to which you feel least connected and continue in this fashion until you have narrowed your choices to no more than two or three listings. These are the ones in which you will invest time. Go to see each one again with your agent.

When you go to each house, make sure your third eye and solar plexus chakras are open to get a deeper feeling of the dueling. From the third eye you will be able to get a higher connection with the dueling. The solar plexus will help you feel out the more practical nature of the home, whether it meets the everyday needs of yourself and your family. Ask the agent if you can have 30 min or an hour to look around each house without conversation. The agent would have done his/her spiel already in the first showing so he or she would be more than happy to let you meander around on your own. Take time to walk around, touch the walls and sense if you can feel anything that speaks to you. If you feel comfortable enough, sit in a common living area, legs folded and allow yourself to experience the energy of the house drawing up from the floorboards to your legs and into you. Through this action, feel if the house is right for you. Keep in mind: this whole time, with each house, try to keep an open mind and not assume which one it will be in the end of your search.

If one specific house pops out in this process as the one true match for you and your family’s energy fingerprint, then by all means listen to your intuition and claim your home without fear. But if not, if there is any hesitation in your thoughts about it, wait until you can look through the listings one final time. When looking through the listings, tell yourself you want the best choice, not what you want now but what you need. Tell your inner self that you will connect with the most compatible home. Place the listings on a table and allow your intuition to guide your hand to the right choice. Don’t accept a listing as the answer unless you know it is. This is a long process overall but a house is a valuable asset and so the time is worth it. Take time to pick out what you and your family need. More importantly, take the time to pick out the one home your intuition feels is best for you. Intuition can only work void of fear so do not fear your choices, just allow your intuition to work. Happy house hunting.

These simple exercises not only may unlock the key to who you were … but will, if nothing else, most certainly give you clearer insight into who you are!

<g:plusone size="small" count="true"></g:plusone>

When did I live? What did I do? Who was I? These questions are more than just a simple questions posed for our own amusement. Their answers often offer profound insight into who we are now while giving us clues to the reasons that we make our choices and insight into our talents and challenges.

Let’s be really clear: The wake never drives the boat! Still, looking over our shoulder to see where we’ve been, what waters we’ve navigated, can give us courage for what may lay ahead and an often well-earned sense of pride for all that we have endured.

While I am sure that “Cleopatra” is out there somewhere, I’ve never met her! When you begin to reflect on who you were in previous incarnations, don’t be looking only to be Queen of the Nile! Chances are you were as normal as blueberry pie –and with very, very many of the same traits and qualities that you have today.

There are some amazing regression experts and books – even readers skilled in viewing past lives. To uncover a few clues on your own, try these simple questions and reflective techniques:

What part of the globe would you most like to visit? What was the place you were you most drawn to as a child? If you spent your junior high school years with posters of Tanzania plastered to your bedroom walls – there’s a good chance that you spent a previous life in that location – or one much like it. Are you living in China and craving time in the American Southwest? The less seemingly logical the desire, the better the chance that you had one – or several – past lives in that or similar location.

Look around your living space. We tend to surround ourselves with pieces that make us the most comfortable. Are you drawn to period furnishings? American country? French provincial? Are you fascinated by East Indian art? Your tastes may gravitate toward one era and locale – or you may have an eclectic mix and may have enjoyed incarnations in those areas and during those periods.

What are the talents that seem to come most naturally to you? Playing the piano easily doesn’t mean that you were Chopin, but most probably is an indicator that music was an integral part of at least one of your incarnations.

Finally, people. Whether your current best friend or the woman in line with you at the airport who shares some warm laughter while fighting for her place at the ticket window – when you feel either that wonderful sense of comfort with someone or, conversely, when you see someone at a distance and the hair sort of stands up on the back of your neck – both can be marvelous indicators that you have shared at least a bit of space with that soul, before.

These simple exercises not only may unlock the key to who you were … but will, if nothing else, most certainly give you clearer insight into who you are!

...I've always equated the use of astrologers, psychics, seers, or clairvoyants in times of distinct market uncertainty: as weapons to fight off the attacks of financial losses.

<g:plusone size="small" count="true"></g:plusone>

It takes unnerving will, and a high dose of foolishness, to run into the bunker of an opposing fighting brigade without weapons. You may quickly find yourself in need of more than just hands and legs to shield off an enemy’s attack. That visual aside, that’s how I’ve always equated the use of astrologers, psychics, seers, or clairvoyants in times of distinct market uncertainty: as weapons to fight off the attacks of financial losses. I apparently am not alone in this thought as I have recently found myself speaking more and more to clients who are seasoned investors or even professional market speculators looking for that which number-crunching can not get them, intuitive insight. Investors’ concern about growing national debt is becoming palpable, causing highly unpredictable fluctuations in the market. So many investors feel the need to seek out a financial adviser who has an ability to sense the cycles of energy around us to make better, stronger investment decisions.

I want to press on you the socioeconomic and spiritual attributes of the ranks of this new class of client: They are well educated, often non-religious, practical in thought, matter of fact in their words, and hopeful of getting straight non-spiritual intuitive answers to their investment and business questions. Since the bottom fell out of the housing market, there has been a steady swing in recent years of investors wanting intuitive or psychic help in investing. It has never been more clear that business owners and market speculators will opt to use the talents of business psychics than it is right now. This phenomenon of growing interest by investors and business owners in psychics and intuitives who specialize in business consulting can be simplified by this: if all the numbers and equations of technical financial theory fail to hold steady the margins of needed growth for a business to thrive or even cover loses in the market for the well intended experienced investor, then why not turn to intuition, astrology, clairvoyance or divination? After all, speculation is speculation, no matter if it’s the technical analysis of a company’s strengths, assets and liabilities or if it’s an intuitive feeling or connection with energies and cycles: what counts, and what most business owners and investors care about, is what works and at the end of the day adds value to a person’s or company’s portfolio. Learning to be acutely sensitive to the movement of energies in the monetary cycles around us can help any investor or small company in this uncertain market.

As the low pitched hum of nature’s clock ticks away to August 2nd, it’s heavily on the minds of many psychic business consultants like myself who sense that the stalemate with our congress to come up with a deal to raise the debt ceiling will cause a credit downgrading or spur on severe austerity measures needed to avoid an inevitable downgrading from the credit bureau of Standard and Poors. In times like these, it makes sense to use every tool in your arsenal to keep your portfolio growing.

An intuitive business consultant, like myself, looks into the cycles of energy around business clients, professional market speculators or private investors and advise actions based on the best coarse to take that would help achieve the client’s financial short and long term goals. An adviser can be technical and more nuanced in his language or more broad in terms depending on his knowledge levels of the financial market. Recently, I’ve advised some of my more vulnerable mid-sized to larger business clients to dump most of their US backed treasuries which would limit their liability and exposure to a downgrade. I’ve also picked up from my sense of things that it’s advisable at this point for my clients who have seasonal companies to keep their liquidity levels at 5% to 30% of annual budgetary levels, depending on their particular size and overall per quarterly expenditures, just in case there is a national default and they find themselves dealing with higher interest rates on their lines of credit and/or jumpy bond holders pulling out to hoard money. These are the sorts of things an intuitive business consultant would help a client with and it’s becoming more and more normal practice as biases in the business community against psychics move to the wayside and people are becoming more willing to try anything to keep control of their coffers.

I recently had the pleasure of retaining a client who is in a way a caricature of the kind of client I, nor any psychic who specializes in business, would never have seen a decade ago in better economic times. He was self assured in his walk as he past the threshold of my small office, escaping the muggy heat that oppressively leaned on everything outside like a hot damp sheet, spread even and laid out. This man was younger than my normal clientele who tend to be preoccupied with business related questions. I’ve found that older business men (not women who tend to come throughout their life) are more open to visiting a clairvoyant than their younger counterparts. Older men tend to have learned over decades of being in business that they don’t have all the answers and that all the Harvard MBA’s in the world don’t beat out good intuition. They have learned to trust their instincts and don’t rely solely on schematics and equations to assure the profit needed for healthy, growing organizations.

This man was wearing an expensive suite, obviously tailored for him. I shook his hand and immediately picked up a sense of nervousness in him, a random thought of dinner plans with a companion. He scanned his eyes around my small, uncluttered office: there is a desk, its chair facing the entrance, a love seat directly facing my chair, and a recliner set off to the side for when I feel a need to be closer to a client without cutting off the energy flow in the small room. Against one wall, a book case made of oak and glass housing four rows of wide-backed books. The hardwood floor shone from a waxing I had done a few weeks ago, and it’s adorned with several earth tone throw rugs. On my desk were a few white candles in glass sleeves and a number of rose quarts crystals strewn loosely across the oiled wooden grain of the desk top.

I motioned for him to sit. He was in his very late twenties; at best he could have been two years past thirty. From his momentary hesitation to sit, I could tell he was not certain of the choices that lead him to the office of the local psychic, a clairvoyant who has silly crystals on his desk and frankincense burning in a brass burner hanging from the ceiling in the corner of the room. I am certain he felt I could not help him. How could I? He obviously noticed I was wearing nondescript khaki short pants and basic leather sandles, nothing like the tailored Hugo Boss blue pin striped suit and Salvator Ferragomo shoes in which he wore. I motioned again for him to sit and sat in concert, facing him across my desk, and we stared at each other for one moment, him with an awkward smile set across his tan, worried face. I offered him bottled water or tea and after seeing he was more interested and getting it over with I launched into my spiel, giving him my references attached to emails and phone numbers he could use to verify the validity, showing him letters of testimonials and praise from business owners, telling him my common sense philosophy for business readings and advice: basically, I was selling my two hundred and twenty-five dollar an hour service. And I ended with:

“Now what can I do to help you?” He seemed more relaxed just from us starting. “I need some advice on what my options may be. I need help sustaining the financial health of my business. I have seen a drop in sales with new clientele by 23% this quarter alone and that’s after a 15% drop the quarter before. We can not seem to retain clients past 4 months. My business partner, a friend I’ve known since college, is thinking of calling this venture a loss if business does look more promising in another quarter or so. We’ve paid out over one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars in franchise fees this year, and more than ten thousand dollars on a marketing campaign and we’ve seen NO real return on our investment, as in not enough to even call this a wash.” “Okay,” I said. “What kind of business do you have and I’ll take a look into this for you.” He looked down toward the floor and back up, bashful. Or maybe it was shame as his next words were: we own a franchised financial advise service. And we are treading water.

This is the way of business and investing today. This is the way of our world’s economy, that the things which were once taken as absolutes, a strong housing market, easy attainable credit for small businesses with good indicators of strong future growth, steady nominal climbs in the stock market over time and across the board, can not be said to be sure things anymore. I was stunned to find out that this well dressed young man was an expert in securities and business. He held a masters in financial technical analysis. His franchise was a national brand with plenty of name recognition but was failing badly due to a complete lack of use of his or his partners’ own intuition. He had all the technical skills and book sense in the world for evaluating a security offer for his clients but he relied on those things solely and lost money for his clients in the process. And in turn he subsequently lost the fees associated with the loss of their future business relationship. He was taught in business school to go by the numbers only and it was this folly that was killing his business. He told me during that first session that he had many hunches about certain securities he felt were undervalued but often would not act on these hunches. “who would?” he said. I shook my head. This non-action cost him tens of thousands of dollars over the year and half he and his partner began their business. Now he needed to get out of the hole to help his client’s investment portfolios and his own.

It’s only been four months since I started working with this new client to build his intuition and his confidence, and to use my psychic intuition as substitution to speculate some securities for him until he develops his intuition more. That’s what an intuitive business consultant does: not only do I consult the client but work to get the client to the point where he can us his own intuition for market analysis. For the first time since beginning the firm, my client and his partner had a moderately strong fiscal quarter where they not only made the money for their franchise license payment but they were able to partially draw a salary for the first time, and had some capital left over to put in a high interest investment account for future operational costs and future growth. They are no where near out the woods. The quarter was still 40% percent off from where they wanted to be at this point in their venture. But there quarterly numbers were far better than they had been doing. And all because one of the partners is open to learning how to use his intuition to invest more fully, and come to a business clairvoyant to help him on his journey.

Notable investment and business auguries like Arch Crawford, Laura Day and Lynn Robinson are examples of the mainstreaming of psychic and astrological advice in the business community, which sorely needs a new way of thinking. Through their actions many businesses are beginning to see the value of looking beyond the technical numbers and begin to understand that intuition and psychic insight are powerful tools to get things done. These are times where fully utilizing all tools available is the only way for any company, investor or professional speculator to succeed. Running a business or investing in the market today, in these times, can be scary prospects. Take the time in looking for a qualified, good financial psychic, clairvoyant or intuitive who can take some of that burden off your shoulders and translate it into growth and financial success.

Recently, I came across a lovely parable of a man who holds a bucket filled with his worldly possessions. Whenever, in his simple daily routine, he observes someone needing something that he can provide, he selflessly reaches into his bucket and helps. It doesn’t take long before the Universe recognizes what is happening … and responds by giving the man a bigger bucket.

Some of my earliest and happiest memories are of my grandmother’s flower garden — particularly her roses. Beautiful, bountiful and lush, Gammie’s rosebushes decorated the corner of her house. Reds, blushes, whites, yellows and even a soft orange, the blooms were ongoing, saucer-sized and fragrant.

As they bloomed well into September, I would delight my grade-school teachers with big bouquets. She would send me to the corner store to pick up a few groceries and arm me with a huge bundle of flowers to bring to Gladys, the owner. Living just a few houses away, my friends and I rarely went home without a few spectacular blooms for our moms.
Gammie’s sister, Connie, loved the orange ones. But of course she did. Who wouldn’t! One day, in horror, I watched as visiting Connie stepped into her car with an enormous bundle of orange-headed stems. I got my little 6-year-old rage on and stomped over to Gammie’s house. “You know,” I said, trying to be nonchalant, “if we give like all of these away … then um if we um would need for there to be orange, there won’t be.” (I was very, very smooth.)
Without the benefit of “ohm-s” or flickering candles or mystical charms, my grandmother paused for a moment and then explained, what was to her, a very simple fact: it just doesn’t work that way. The very best way to have them forever is to give them away. “God,” she said, “will give us too many orange roses to count!” True to her word, she was never without roses. Especially the orange ones.

The Universe loves balance. Although you may often feel that you give more than you receive; that you have given of your heart, your money, your time or your talents in vain – you haven’t. It may well be true that the lover to whom you have given everything has given nothing in return – but that love given will be given back in too many ways to mention. All that you give is returned to you —

This isn’t a call to dump your buckets and uproot your roses! It is simply a reminder that it is in giving that we receive. Not just metaphorically but in real, true and tangible ways. It is how we draw abundance to us and fill our lives to the brim!
