While I believe that there are events in all of our lives that will happen no matter what we do or where we go; I also believe there is no predestined outcome to any of these events. Why? Because of a little thing called karma. Now the western view of karma is “what goes around comes around”. That’s not quite accurate or the full meaning. There are dedicated individuals who study a lifetime to understand karma so there is no way to explain it fully in this blog. Succinctly, karma is the cause and effect cycle. That which you do, decide and act upon in one life can affect what comes to you in the next. The ultimate purpose of this cause and effect cycle is to lead us closer to the divine.

I see karmic lines and events around people that have led them to and sometimes make them feel trapped within a cycle. They love a person, but that person doesn’t love them back. They feel a connection and that connection is not imagined. However, it may not be felt by the other person because the other person’s karma brings them to another choice. That person may choose not to address that piece of outstanding karma at that time. Even learning someone’s choices that lead them away from the clients’ affection is a piece of karma in that it can teach that someone else’s choices has nothing to do with being loved or anything to do with another person at all.

As a medium, I firmly believe that spirit speaks to us all every day. I am often asked by clients “How can I learn to hear spirit like you do?” It isn’t a matter of learning how to hear spirit; it is more a matter of learning how they communicate with us so that we can catch their messages. Sometimes these messages are so subtle we miss them. Sometimes we are so sure that it hits us like a load of bricks.

The expectation is that spirit speaks to us as someone would converse with us on the telephone. This isn’t quite true. On occasion, it happens, but most often spirit communicates to us through all our senses of sight, sound, smell, feel and/or taste. They may use one sense to communicate with us or all five at once. Additionally, each spirit has a way of communicating that will differ from another. It’s a matter of understanding that just as people communicate differently, so does spirit. Spirit just uses more senses.

The most important thing to remember is that Spirit always speaks the truth. It’s the interpreter and their perceptions of what they’re picking up from spirit that can make mistakes in interpretation. I have found your own associations with images and symbols are most important. For example, when it comes to troublesome relationships, my spirit guides often sends me the image of a Geiger counter.

Somewhere along the line I associated that needle erratically moving back and forth as a signal of trouble in a relationship. Another example is that whenever I see an open garden gate, I know a decision must be made. The sense being that as you makes a decision you pass through the gate into another space. As you begin to try to make these associations, I strongly recommend keeping a journal of what sensations, words and images you get is very helpful. Sometimes, when we are so close to things we can’t see the forest for the trees and hindsight is always crystal clear!

Another thing to keep in mind is that the spirits that come to you might not be family members. They might be family members you never met… a great aunt… or a great-great-grandfather. Spirit will give you indications of who they are, but you might have to do some research. They also might be spirit guides who help guide you through life that you’ve not known in this life, but from another life.

There are different ways to open up to spirit. You can ask spirit for some indication they are with you. More often than not, spirit is delighted to do so in any number of ways I mentioned above. Or, you can try sitting in a quiet room. Dim the lights and take a few deep breaths, letting them out slowly. Relax and allow your mind to become quiet. As you sit, ask spirit to send you some sensation so that you can feel them around you. For example, if your lips tingle, spirit is kissing you. Another example is a slight pressure, tingle or warmth on your shoulders. This is spirit putting their “hands” on your shoulders.

As you begin to recognize spirit, ask them questions. Make them simple yes/no questions at first. And most definitely, ask them their name. You might only get an initial at first, but as you become more open, you will get names. As you progress in understanding spirit, you will learn your own set of symbols and sensations. A good dream dictionary might be of help in deciphering the information sent to you. As you move forward you will learn that even if you are by yourself you are never alone. Spirit is always with you.

According to the Big Bang theory all matter, in the known universe, originated from a single source. This source is according to the Big Bang theory a quantum singularity often referred to as the “cosmic egg”. Quantum entanglement theory states that sets of particles that are entangled exhibit the same instantaneous reactions to stimulus exerted on one particle across the entire set of particles that are entangled. Moreover, it does not matter how far these particles are separated from each other as they are all members of the entangled set. So, they react simultaneously regardless of whether they are separated by an angstrom or a football field.

You could for example have a pair of entangled electrons separated across the entire known universe and exert a force on one that would instantaneously produce the same effect on the other. If this is the case then the space that we perceive between objects is just a construct of our human minds as everything in the entire universe would be interconnected through quantum entanglement, the space in between us just an illusion.

Therefore, if on some level we are all connected then why would psychic reading abilities like ESP not be plausible scientifically?
