Can this happen that you are fine but suddenly you start feeling sad and a longing develops for someone who has walked out of your life. You both are leading separate lives and suddenly just a thought and there is this weird feeling in your head. You can't think of anything but just the heaviness of longing.

It isn't so much being tested, it is that we feel hurt and can't let go. The hurt is to remind you to never put yourself in that situation again. Sometimes we learn, sometimes we don't. The hurt is also to let you know that it is time to break the cycle of returning to the past. You don't want to be hurt like that again.
You feel that it isn't over because you haven't accepted that it is, hence your gentle heart. It is the heart that is the indicator. The gut feels your pain and can't digest the truth. You deserve better and I have it on good authority that better is coming your way soon.

One more question I have. This may not be related but I would nevertheless ask and would love to have an answer.
Why is that people with strength of character and gentle heart tested the most?
I know this is a stupid question but still if someone can answer it.
And why do we keep on having this feeling that it is not over when you have accepted that it has ended for the moment. If the preset has no indication that it has some chances but the gut refuses to agree.
